Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the BARIDE mobile applications, website, and related ride-sharing, city-to-city travel, parcel-delivery, driver, support, wallet, and safety services. In this policy, “BARIDE,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of those services.
By using BARIDE, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
Information we collect
- Account and contact information: name, email address, phone number, country, language, account role, verification status, profile photo, and authentication information.
- Driver and vehicle information: national identification details, driver's licence information, verification documents, vehicle details, registration information, and driver eligibility status.
- Ride and delivery information: pickup and destination details, routes, bookings, selected seats, parcel details, trip status, cancellation information, ratings, and safety or support reports.
- Payment and wallet information: transaction amounts, wallet activity, payment status, refunds, withdrawals, and records needed for accounting and fraud prevention. Payment providers may collect payment credentials directly under their own policies.
- Communications: in-app messages, support requests, complaints, and other communications you send through BARIDE.
- Device and technical information: device identifiers, IP address, app version, operating system, timestamps, diagnostics, and security events. This includes a Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token used only to deliver transactional service and account notifications.
- Identity-service information: verification results or identifiers received when you choose to use an integrated identity service such as WizePass.
Location information
BARIDE collects precise driver location during active city rides, city-to-city rides, and parcel deliveries, even when the app is closed or not in use. This enables live driver progress, pickup and drop-off coordination, arrival information, parcel tracking, safety investigations, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution.
Driver background location is limited to active services.
BARIDE requests background location from a driver only when a ride or delivery reaches an active tracking state. The app displays an explanation and an active-tracking indicator. Tracking stops automatically when every active ride or delivery is completed, cancelled, rejected, or otherwise ends. Simply being online and waiting for work does not start continuous background tracking.
Passengers may provide foreground location to find nearby services or choose pickup and destination points. Passenger location is optional because pickup and destination addresses can be entered manually. Device settings can be used to review or change permission choices at any time.
Driver location is sent to BARIDE and may be shown to the passenger, parcel sender, or recipient involved in the active service. Authorized BARIDE support staff may access live location and route history when needed to operate the service, investigate safety incidents or fraud, or resolve disputes.
BARIDE does not sell location information or use it for advertising.
How we use information
- Provide accounts, bookings, rides, deliveries, live tracking, messaging, payments, loyalty features, and customer support.
- Match passengers with drivers and calculate routes, distances, estimated prices, service fees, and arrival information.
- Verify users, drivers, vehicles, pickup, drop-off, and delivery completion.
- Send transactional account, booking, ride, delivery, payment, message, and safety notifications. Firebase Cloud Messaging is used only to deliver these notifications and is not used by BARIDE for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Prevent fraud, misuse, unsafe activity, duplicate rewards, and unauthorized access.
- Resolve disputes, process refunds and payouts, maintain financial records, and enforce our terms.
- Understand service performance, troubleshoot problems, and improve BARIDE.
- Meet applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and law-enforcement obligations.
Retention and account deletion
Driver route-history retention
Driver route history is normally retained for 90 days after the related ride or delivery ends. It may be retained longer only while required for an open safety investigation, dispute, fraud investigation, or legal obligation, and will be deleted or anonymized when that exception ends.
We retain information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, resolve disputes, protect safety, prevent fraud, maintain transaction integrity, and meet legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations. Retention periods vary according to the type of record and why it is needed.
What happens when you delete your account
Account access is permanently disabled and operational personal information is removed or anonymized. Historical records retain a de-identified “Deleted User” reference so completed trips, payments, safety events, and financial links remain accurate. A restricted archival copy may be retained only where needed for legal, financial, fraud-prevention, dispute, or safety obligations and is not available for normal account use.
Passenger and driver modes share one BARIDE identity. If a user has both modes, deleting the account removes access to both. The app warns the user about this before final confirmation. Deleted accounts cannot be restored through ordinary sign-in.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law and subject to lawful exceptions, you may ask to:
- Access or receive a copy of personal information associated with your account.
- Correct inaccurate account information.
- Delete your account through the in-app profile settings.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Change location, camera, photo, and notification permissions through device settings.

Advertising and cross-app tracking
BARIDE does not display third-party advertising, use the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA), use the Google Advertising ID, combine BARIDE data with data from other companies for targeted advertising or advertising measurement, or share personal information with data brokers.
Firebase Cloud Messaging is used only to deliver transactional push notifications. BARIDE does not use Firebase Analytics, advertising attribution, or advertising SDKs in the mobile app.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, restricted archives, monitoring, and separation of operational and historical records. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Please protect your password and notify us promptly if you believe your account or device has been compromised.
Children
BARIDE is not intended for children under 18, and children may not create driver or passenger accounts. If you believe a child has provided personal information to BARIDE, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as BARIDE changes or legal requirements evolve. We will post the updated policy here and change the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
