Acceptance and eligibility
These Terms form an agreement between you and BARIDE. By creating an account or using BARIDE services, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Do not use the service if you do not agree.
You must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate and current information, protect your credentials, and promptly report unauthorized account use.
BARIDE services
BARIDE is a technology platform for arranging city rides, city-to-city rides, and parcel deliveries. Availability, routes, prices, drivers, delivery times, and specific features may vary by location and service conditions.
Drivers provide transportation using their own or authorized vehicles. Each user remains responsible for complying with applicable law and completing the actions required for a booking or delivery.
Driver requirements
- Hold all licences and authorizations required to drive and provide the accepted service.
- Provide truthful identity, vehicle, registration, insurance, and verification information.
- Use a safe and roadworthy vehicle and obey traffic, safety, and transport requirements.
- Keep records current and do not allow an unauthorized person to use the driver account.
Bookings, fares, payments, cancellations, and refunds
Displayed fares, parcel charges, service fees, payment status, cancellation charges, refunds, and driver payouts are governed by the terms shown for the booking and the rules presented in the app. Users must review booking details before confirming payment.
Cancellation, no-show, route-change, failed-delivery, reattempt, and return-to-sender fees may apply when disclosed in the app. Refund eligibility depends on the booking status, service already performed, payment method, and applicable law.
Parcel responsibilities and prohibited items
- The sender must accurately describe, safely package, and lawfully own or be authorized to send the parcel.
- The sender must provide correct pickup, recipient, contact, and delivery information.
- The sender and recipient must protect delivery PINs and use required QR, PIN, signature, or proof-of-delivery steps.
- A parcel may be reattempted, held, rejected, cancelled, or returned when delivery cannot be completed or the parcel violates these Terms.
- Illegal drugs, weapons, explosives, hazardous materials, stolen goods, contraband, and anything prohibited by law may not be transported through BARIDE.
User conduct and safety
- Treat other users respectfully and do not discriminate, harass, threaten, defraud, or endanger another person.
- Do not misuse payments, promotions, loyalty features, accounts, identity documents, tracking, messaging, or safety tools.
- Follow reasonable pickup, passenger, parcel, and delivery safety instructions.
- Report urgent emergencies to the appropriate local emergency authority; BARIDE is not an emergency-response service.
Location and privacy
During an active assignment, BARIDE may collect a driver’s precise location in the background, including when the app is closed or not in use, to provide live progress, coordinate service, calculate arrival information, and support safety and dispute handling.
Location collection, sharing, retention, permission choices, and user rights are described in the BARIDE Privacy Policy. Background tracking stops when all active assignments end.
Enforcement and account termination
BARIDE may investigate reported conduct and restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address safety risks, suspected fraud, unlawful conduct, material breaches, invalid driver eligibility, payment abuse, or harm to users or the platform.
We may preserve and disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate safety or fraud incidents, protect users or the public, or establish and defend legal claims.
Intellectual property and acceptable use
BARIDE and its software, designs, branding, and service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may use the service only for its intended purposes and may not interfere with, reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or misuse it except where applicable law expressly permits.
Availability and limitation of liability
We work to keep BARIDE available and accurate, but network, device, mapping, payment, maintenance, safety, and third-party conditions may interrupt or affect the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BARIDE is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and any applicable limitation will be subject to consumer protection and other mandatory legal rights.
Complaints, disputes, and Zambian law
Submit a complaint to support@baride.app with the relevant booking or delivery details and allow BARIDE a reasonable opportunity to investigate and respond. If the dispute is not resolved, either party may pursue remedies available under the laws of the Republic of Zambia.
Changes and contact
BARIDE may update these Terms as the service or applicable requirements change. We will publish the effective date and may provide additional notice of material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@baride.app.
